Christmas in Canberra 2010

It was a very exciting christmas this year. We all got very spoilt it was the best on yet. Oscar and Molly are so exhausted because the lucky ducks got Christmas for 5 days in a row. We arrived on Thursday and then on friday the christmas days started. \
On the 27th we went in nan and pops car to see Nan and Pop Bemboka. We had a huge adventure when we were there. Oscar ran around like the chickens chasing them all over the hillside. Molly convinced pop that the best way to start things off was to have a nanny nap. Then wake up and go on the quad bike with uncle Mike, well until the wheel falls off. Then every one was down a hill fixing the quad bike. After it had been fixed we all had a present and Pop gave daddy a challenge. To build a windmill in under an hour. Much to everyones disgust the stupid thing didn't come in a million pieces like all the previously brought ones but this one came in 4 pieces with not 200 little screws but just one big one. Then the water feature that should have taken 10 minutes took 1 hour to construct and a little bit of help from Oscar.
It was a very long day then on the 28th we all went out to Lolly Pops to play with Jack and Will before they left on a big Areoplane to go and see some more of their family in QLD. Molly and Oscar are still wondering what to do with all their lovely new toys.
It will be a few quiet days at home to work out where everything must go...

Dans finally 24

Happy Birthday to my darling husband. For his 24th birthday he couldn't make up his mind to what he wanted for his birthday cake so he got a layered frog in the pond jelly cake. Molly and Oscar absoultly loved daddys cake. Molly loved singing happy birthday to herself and got angry at us when we said it was daddy's birthday not hers. I just hope that he had a good day.

Today we sugar soaped Mollys bedroom. She has been kept out of her room for most of the day. She was super surprised to see she had a new doona cover and pillow covers on her bed. She was so good helping mummy to clean the house.

We just thought this summed up our little princess so well. Sitting at Ned Kelly's feet with the sign "SUCH IS LIFE".
We took a drive out to Beechworth and took a walk through the court house. The court house has held over 149 of the Kelly family trials. We saw the armour that the kelly gang wore in their finaly battle with the police. We also saw the wheel chair that Ned Kellys mother was in. Unfortunatley you can't take photos of it or the suits of armour but next time we have visitors we will drive them out to see it. You can however sit on the Judges bench, stand in the witness box, the accused box. The kids loved playing court room. Oscar was very quick to dob the other to in for the crime.

Kira and Russel flew down for the weekend. Molly loved having a play mate her own age living with us. Oscar got a bit of a break from being the play mate, It has been such beautiful hot days while they have been down. Molly and Russ loved playing in the water washing all their toys

.

At night we would go to the base and have a swim, which everybody loved but they kids didn't realise that the parents probably loved it more because it wore the last bit of energy out of them so they would fall asleep right after we had dinner and a bath.

Molly and Oscar have been real little troopers this weekend. It has rained and stormed pretty much the whole time. We have done lots of drawings and art and craft, But their favourite activity was cooking. They sat for a whole hour making HAPPY FACE bikkies with daddy. Mummy was loving the time off.
Yesterday we went for a walk to the Hume Dam, It was a bit wet but lots of fun. Everyone was really tired after we got back.

Today we went for a really long exciting drive to Batlow to see Aunty Zoe and Ryan. The best part was seeing new addition baby HAYLEY. She is so cute. Molly and Oscar just loved her to bits. We will all miss them but will see them again soon. Aunty Manda was extremely patient with Molly sitting in the back seat asking "we dere det" (thanks NOEL!!!)

Well today was the first Saturday in a while that Daniel has been at home with us. Molly was so excited this morning.

After her time with daddy, all she wanted was to have some brotherly love.

Even with her pulling "ugly face" she is still the cutest little woman I have met, but today she seemed cuter because she has had SLEEP!!!

p.s she found an old dummy and has decided that she is still in need of it, but so far she has only used it once this since finding it this morning.

Thanks to Aunty Margaret for sending down Oscars birthday presents. .

Oscar gets a New Bed

Yesterday Oscar broke his cot so instead of buying a new cot for a couple more months he is now in his toddler "NEMO" bed. He actually stayed in bed right up until this morning when his sister came in to sleep with him . They are so cute.

Rainy Days...

It has rained all day here today. Oscar has been sleeping for the most part today so Molly got very bored. She helped her mummy to do the washing, clean the lounge and the bedrooms ( but not Oscars as he was sleeping). After doing our chores Molly got out her paints and arts and crafts and made some pictures.

We are expecting more rain tomorrow so I think we will do more art. She is so proud of her art work.

Today Oscar had his 1yr old injections. You would think that it would be a bad time but no not for Oscar anyway. He didn't cry until the nurse decided that the bandaid that was just put on wasn't holding so she ripped it back off making him cry. Molly on the other hand has had a massive "ooowww" on both her arms where Oscar has had his injections. She has had no injections but obvisiously they are so tightly connected to one another that she felt the pain for him. What a Great big sister. Then tonight Molly was a mini mini Master chef she made crumbed chicken strips with a salad and Apple and Sultana Crumble for desert. She has been the best little mum ever. Its days like these that I love being the mum.
